Carleton Place, Ontario

Mrs. Audrey Kealey of Carleton Place is the grand-prize winner of the Win2020 Hospital Lottery.  Kealey’s ticket number 105067 was announced today at 7 p.m. by Keith & April Bean of Bean Chevrolet, and donor of the 2020 convertible Camaro of which Audrey Kealey is now the proud new owner.

“Kealey said, “It’s my birthday today.” As it turns out, her husband Brian Kealey bought the ticket for her as an 81st birthday present.

All 10,845 tickets were sold in 33 days for the joint fundraiser that benefitted both the Almonte General Hospital Fairview Manor Foundation and the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital Foundation.

“We could not have been happier with how this turned out,” said Bean. “We were able to turn our $50,000 car donation into almost $200,000 to benefit our two local hospitals.  Supporting quality health care close to home has never been more important than it is right now.”

“These funds will allow each hospital to purchase new or replacement equipment,” said Mary Wilson Trider, President of both the Almonte General Hospital and the Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital. “We count on community support through our foundations to put the best tools in the hands of our caring and dedicated physicians and staff.  Clearly, residents recognize how important it is that their hospitals are well resourced.  We thank all of the ticket buyers for their support. We also can’t thank Keith, April and Bean Chevrolet enough for donating the amazing car that made this lottery possible.”

The Win2020 Hospital Lottery launched May 1, 2020.  Because the grand prize was donated by Bean Chevrolet, all of the funds generated from ticket sales (one for $25 or five for $100), net of expenses, will be split evenly by the two hospital foundations.  All tickets were sold online at www.win2020.ca

As well as the grand prize winner, Jen Dlugosz of Almonte won the first early-bird prize of $2020 on May 15.  The second early-bird prize of $2020 was won by Diane Gilleson of Perth on June 19.

In 2018, the two hospital foundations raffled off a 1967 Firebird donated by Bean Chevrolet.  Close to 6,500 tickets were sold raising $50,000 for each hospital foundation.

The Win2020 Hospital Lottery is licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (License Number 11950).  All net proceeds will be shared equally between the two foundations.
