The Run/Walk for AGH Goes Virtual
September 12, 2020 from 6 a.m. to September 13, 2020 at 6 p.m.
Walkers and runners of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in this year’s virtual Run for AGH, sponsored by Almonte’s Shoppers Drug Mart and taking place Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13. In order to ensure everyone’s safety, participants can complete their run or walk anytime during the weekend, choosing either one of the mapped out routes or to walk or run their own planned out route.
Known for six years as the Mississippi Mills River Walk and Run, this late summer annual fundraiser has raised over $170,000 for new and replacement equipment at the Hospital. This year’s event is again in support of the birthing unit and women’s health programs at the Almonte General Hospital.
How This Virtual Run Works
Participants will choose from one of three distances:
3 km Family Fun (Walk or Run) (Untimed)
3 km Walk or Run (Timed)
5 km Walk or Run (Timed)
10 km Walk or Run (Timed)
All participants taking part in one of the timed events must download the official Race Roster Ap, Runkeeper, which will be used to enter your registration number, route and time. Additional information is available at https://raceroster.com/events/2020/29166/agh-runwalk-for-womens-health
Prizes are awarded for the top three finishers of each timed event by a male or female participant.
To make it fun and a little competitive we have upped the ante for those that fundraise. Learn more with us by joining the conversation in the Facebook Event https://www.facebook.com/events/199985131347721
Family registration: $75 – (two adults and two children)
Individual registration $40
Everyone who registers receives a Run for AGH t-shirt and event kit. Kits will be available for pick up from the Octagon Room at 95 Spring St. on September 11, 2020 from 2-7pm.
All participants are encouraged to collect pledges from family and friends in support of the Almonte General Hospital. All donations collected of $20 or more are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
After registering, participants should set up their own event page and share it by email to facilitate pledge collection. Any cash pledges must be turned over to the event organizers by September 11 by 7 p.m. in order to qualify the participants or teams for prizes awarded for collecting the most funds. A pledge form can be downloaded from this page.
Prizes are awarded to the top three individual pledge collectors.
