The entire Nursing Staff on our Medical Surgical Unit came together to recognize one of their own during Nurses Week. Whitney Godin was presented with a Guardian Angel Pin with her coworkers gathered to congratulate her.
“This is a long time coming and is so well deserved. Whitney Godin is such a special person and very professional in the role of the Ward Clerk on the Medical Surgical Unit at AGH. This is not why the Medical Surgical Nursing staff are writing. We are nominating Whitney because of her caring heart and all the other activities that she contributes to the Unit that go far beyond the role of Ward Clerk. Whitney needs to be recognized because she contributes so much, such as feeding patients, holding their hands to calm them while they are calling out or even taking them for walks around the Unit while the nursing staff are busy doing many other tasks. Please understand the whole time she continue to have her head set on and always keeps the confidentiality that is required, so she is OUR Angel with a Headset as well an Angel with Wings!
Whitney will always facilitate the organization of our rooms for new admissions and our infusions. This is such a generous gesture on her part allowing the Nursing Staff to focus on the patients when they arrive to the Unit. Whitney’s professional mannerisms and compassion on the phone is undeniable. If you are ever lucky enough to meet Whitney her laugh is infectious and it will always put a smile on your face even if you are having a bad day. WE the nursing staff could mention so much more that Whitney contributes to our unit. All we can say is we are so thankful that she is on our team and she needs to know that we appreciate every little contribution that she gives to make our Unit function as well as it does.”
