Christmas Appeal Raises $50,000

Thanks to our amazing community an incredible $50,000 in donations was received by the AGH-FVM Foundation’s 2014 annual Christmas appeal.

The donations that you contributed this past Christmas are among the many ways this community is helping the hospital purchase much-needed and essential equipment for the care, comfort and health of their patients and residents.

The members of the Almonte General Hospital/Fairview Manor Foundation are proud to be a part of your community and thank you for continuing to support your local hospital.

Royal Canadian Legion grant purchases cystoscope for AGH

The Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Provincial Command Branches and Ladies’ Auxiliaries Charitable Foundation have donated $7,100 to the Almonte General Hospital/Fairview Manor (AGH/FVM) Foundation to purchase a cystoscope for the AGH operating room (OR).

A cystoscope, which is a tubular instrument equipped with a light, is used to examine the inside of the bladder and ureter to help diagnose bladder conditions.

Shown, from left, are AGH/FVM Foundation Board member Josh Gamble, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 240 First Vice President Gerry Schroeder, AGH peri-operative OR Registered Nurse Brooke Guthrie Atchison, AGH urologist Dr. Edward Woods and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 240 Treasurer Garry Pollock.
